Lakeside Technical Academy
LTA began mainly in-house spearheaded by the Executive Director of Silver Star Tower Ltd. with the sole purpose of training and retraining the construction team of the group. In order to enhance their core skills and build knowledge in construction standards, both local and international and to share knowledge and experiences gathered on site.
Lakeside Technical Academy started in 2010 mainly focused on inhouse
training of the workers of the Kalmoni Group. Therefore, it was
a collaborative effort between its real estate focused companies;
Advance Construction, Lakeside Estates and Silver Star Tower Ltd.
Through the vast knowledge and experiences, it brought together a
team of well-versed Engineers and techs as facilitators of its training programs. Back then training was mainly focused on the four top-up
competencies; Construction Supervision, Construction Electrical, Security and Plumbing.
LTA went from training their workers and interns to adding a few
external participants ranging from individuals to company workers.
Currently, LTA is running about thirteen (13) Real Estate &
Construction based training programs. These programs are run
throughout the year as per the training schedule. They are either full
day (8.30 am to 3.30 pm) or half day training (8.30 am to 1 pm). They
are run at Silver Star Tower and Lakeside Marina Park. We also have
certification for taking the ten (10) main construction courses dubbed
Construction Practices & Standards. This is endorsed by the Ghana Real
Estate Developer’s Association. Aside these there are six (6) months
on-job/ on-site training for students who have completed construction based
TVET programs. It has a sign agreement with some of the schools
such Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), Koforidua Technical
Institute and University among others.
LTA has a special zoned plot in a prime area for a Technical Training
School. The plot is fenced with a powerline and a sidewalk. In 2020, A
security block with gender-based washrooms was built. It also has a
furnished 40 ft container which can accommodate 10 students.
Although, it is currently used to accommodate our trainees and
National Service Persons.
The plot area is 5,577 m² or 1.39 acres which we are developing
gradually from 2025 into a professional top-up Technical Institute with
certification. These hands-on training will include attachment which
will last between three (3) months to twelve (12) months.
LTA aims to build its own workshop in the future but currently utilizes the following workshops in their training; Advance Construction Block Factory & Aluminum workshop, Silver Star Tower Electrical Workshop (Basement), Lakeside Horticulture Village and Lakeside Construction Workshop and sites.

LTA has also engaged Elrano Projects and Consults to facilitate work-based, self-improvement and self-development programs such as Digital Marketing, Project Management, Real Estate Management, Business Support & Finance, Human Resource Management among many others.
